TREASURE CASE : 2014 T442. Descriptive catalogue: A complete, cast, copper-alloy socketed axe. The mouth is sub-square and has a horizontal moulded collar; the loop is attached to the lower moulding. There are three, vertical moulded, parallel ribs on both faces; they are evenly distributed across the face. An incomplete copper alloy hooked tag, of Early Medieval dating (Late 8th to 9th Centuries AD). Approximately 90% of the hooked tag is present, with the hook being incomplete. The plate is circular shaped, with two circular sewing holes present. The bottom point of the inverted drop-shaped plate tapers into an incomplete backward-facing hook. The bow of the brooch has crenellations along the sides and down the centre, there are four lines and between the centre two lines there are small horizontal lines.
