Cast copper alloy strap fitting or strap loop dating from the medieval period, that is from the 13th or 14th century. The strap loop is complete yet slightly bent out of shape. It has a roughly oval shape with a rectangular cross-section. There is a rounded knop at either end of the top bar and a slightly bigger moulded knop in the centre of the top bar. Two small inward-facing 'spurs' five the strap loop an oval appearance, separating the main loop from the part of the fitting where the strap would have sat. Medieval copper alloy belt mount, very crude hollow-cast scallop-shaped with filed oblique cross-hatched grooves on face, upper end of hinge transversely grooved, central perforation, copper alloy rivet (5mm) and circular rove. Medieval sheet copper alloy "shield shaped" strap end with two rivets with circular roves and a solid D-sectioned bar-mount cut from a longer bar. The sides are completely straight (i.e. without the normal notches and points) and the inside edge is angled. Cf. Egan and Pritchard 1991, fig. 103. 16.5 x 10mm. Bar-mount 3.8 x 10.2mm. c.1270 - c.1450.

Medieval sheet copper alloy 'shield-shaped' strap end with convex inside edge, two opposed notches in the sides and two copper alloy rivets one at inside edge and the other near the centre, the latter with a rectangular rove on reverse. In place of the normal bar-mount (Egan and Pritchard 1991, fig. 103), the outside edge is hooked forward. Cf. an example from Wymondham, Norfolk (HER 40446, NMS-1B23E6). 19 x 16.5mm. Second half 14th century.
