Lead alloy fragment of a probable Medieval pilgrim badge, secular badge, pendant or similar souvenir type ornament. The fragment is plain and flat on the reverse and the front carries a moulded design of a facade of buildings with spired towers/turrets and arched windows between.
The closest parallel to this fragment identified in Brian Spencer's 'Pilgrim Souvenirs and Secular Badges', 1998, is a pendant in the form of a purse which has a facade of buildings above the purse bar. See p.314-317, fig. 314a.
