A fragment of a copper alloy Roman gilded disc brooch dating to AD 200-350. All that remains of the brooch of the brooch is a section of the front plate. This is decorated with a raised rim and an inner raised circle (there may be further circles in the centre). It may be that the inner circle forms the edge of a bezel (which may have contained a stone). There are traces of gilt in the outer ring. The brooch comprises two arms which form a T bar. In the centre of the T bar, the bow curves forward. The bow is decorated with a horizontal line with four vertical lines below. In the centre of the T bar, the bow curves forward and narrows to a point. The bow is decorated at the top with two lines or ridges at the top which blend into the sides. An incomplete copper-alloy Hod Hill type Roman brooch dating to AD 43-70. The pin, the catchplate and the lower part of the bow are missing. At the top of the bow, there are two arms rolling forward from the bow to create the T bar for the pin. The bow has three raised ridges of decoration running down. Below the ridges, the bow narrows before expanding out just above the break. There are traces of silvering.
