A fragment of a copper alloy Roman gilded disc brooch dating to AD 200-350. All that remains of the brooch of the brooch is a section of the front plate. This is decorated with a raised rim and an inner raised circle (there may be further circles in the centre). It may be that the inner circle forms the edge of a bezel (which may have contained a stone). There are traces of gilt in the outer ring. In the centre of the T bar, the bow curves forward and narrows to a point. The bow is decorated at the top with two lines or ridges at the top which blend into the sides. At the bottom, there are two horizontal lines. The catchplate extends towards the back from the lower part of the bow.
