An incomplete Late Iron Age to Early Roman copper-alloy Langton Down brooch (AD 25-60). The spring and pin and the lower part of the bow are missing. The head has been folded to form cylindrical wings that contained an iron spring. A slot at the rear of the wings accommodated the pin. At each end the wings are incomplete. At the front, between the bow and head, is an arched ridge. The bow is strongly arched in side profile and is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear. A copper alloy Iron Age strip bow brooch dating to AD 25-75. The pin of the brooch is missing. The top of the bow curls back to form a bar at the top for the pin. The front of the bow is straight and ends squarely at the bottom (a fragment if missing from the bottom edge). The bow is decorated with two double lines which narrow towards the bottom and between each of the double lines there is a row of dots. The catchplate extends back from the loop part of the bow. An incomplete and worn copper-alloy Roman rosette brooch. Only the spring case and bow survive, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn. The spring case is folded over to be cylindrical in form and undecorated. The upper bow has a convex front face. The front face is decorated with four longitudinal grooves. Below is the upper bow is a flat plate and its original shape is now unclear. It was likely disc or lozenge shaped. On the back of the plate are the remains of a catch plate.
