A worn and bent silver sixpence of William III (AD 1694-1702). The coin is in poor condition with much wear however this is probably purposeful; the upper and lower edges of the obverse have been bent, forward on the lower and back on the upper; this indicates that the coin was probably used as a love token. Love tokens are usually made from silver (and occasionally gold) coins, often being rubbed smooth and bent in a similar fashion as seen here. Due to the wear of the coin a more precise issue date cannot be given. Spink (2006) 3525.
