A very corroded and encrusted iron horseshoe of uncertain date, but possibly Medieval or Post Medieval. The shoe is asymetrical in plan with a pointed U shaped inner arch. The heels are thickened and one appears to have a calkin, a feature less often seen on Modern examples. One nail survives projecting from the hoof side of the shoe. The toe is a little damaged. The web is wide at 33mm at the toe, and 36mm at the quarters. There is no evidence of the shoe being fullered. The shoe is 100mm long, 98mm wide and 19mm thick at the possible calkin. It weighs 281g. A lead alloy spindle whorl of unknown date, probably Early Medieval to Post Medieval, about AD 850 - 1600. It is Coppergate type B1 (Walton Rogers, 2007, page 25). It is discoidal with a central perforation measuring 9.8mm in diameter. The faces are worn but do not appear to have been decorated. The whorl has a white patina. It is 32.7mm in diameter and 9mm thick. It weighs 59.3g.

A complete copper alloy awl or leather working tool of uncertain date. The awl has a square-sectioned centre which tapers to a fine point at one end while the other end narrows into a flat chisel-like end. It is assumed that one of these ends would form a tang however either end would function well as a leather or possibly a woodworking tool. An incomplete copper alloy dolphin brooch of Roman date. The head of the brooch is comprised of tubular wings though one has been lost to an old worn break, and an iron rod can be seen within, representing the remains of the pin mechanism. The pin no longer remains. A circular sectioned bow extends centrally from the front of the wings with a slight upward turn and tapers steadily in width to an extremely worn break. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy crescent type Aesica brooch of first century AD date, possibly AD 50-75. The brooch has a spring-case, half-cylindrical with closed ends. The spring-case has a width of 28.5mm and diameter of 7.0mm. A spring of sixteen coils survives within the spring-case as does the external chord (the chord lays over the top of the spring). It is uncertain whether the chord was held in place by a rear hook or now incomplete lug.
