A complete copper alloy pendant or button of post-medieval date. The object appears to be comprised of four ovate panels folded and soldered together to form a sphere. A small circular, domed attachment loop is present at the top of the object while a small circular perforation exists at the opposing point. The outer surface of the object is elaborately decorated with double opposing helical bands and foliate designs within the resulting gaps. The object is comprised of a hollow cylinder, uniform in internal diameter, with three circumferential rows of four pyramidal knops or spike projecting from the exterior surface of the upper portion. The knops in the middle row are four sided while the upper and lower knops are three sided. Two of the uppermost knops have been lost to old damage as has a large section of the lower shaft. The head of the brooch is comprised of tubular wings though one has been lost to an old worn break, and an iron rod can be seen within, representing the remains of the pin mechanism. The pin no longer remains. A circular sectioned bow extends centrally from the front of the wings with a slight upward turn and tapers steadily in width to an extremely worn break. A complete copper alloy buckle of early-medieval date. The buckle is D-shaped in plan and circular in section with a narrowed and recessed strap bar. The outer edge of the frame is wide and undecorated and the pin no longer remains. Where the frame meets the strap bar it terminates in bulbous knops which are most probably crude representations of animal heads confronting across the bar.
