This ring measures 22.23mm in external diameter, 15.72mm in internal diameter, 2.14mm in thickness, 2.13g in weight. This ring could have functioned as a harness ring or a crude buckle frame or brooch.

A complete copper-alloy rectangular buckle frame with central bar of Medieval date. The frame and bar are oval in section and undecorated. The copper-alloy pin is still present. It tapers to a point and has an open loop. This buckle measures 19.57mm in length, 13.99mm in width, 1.45mm in thickness, 1.18g in weight. There is a similar example from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, p. 98, no. 444).

Incomplete medieval copper alloy buckle, pin missing: oval frame with offset, narrowed bar and straight outside edge with an undecorated sheet roller; rectangular sheet plate with pin slot, frame recesses, and five rivets (one missing). The outside edge does not protrude at the sides (i.e. there are no knops flanking the roller). An engraved line follows the inside edge and both sides. An incomplete copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The buckle is a single loop circular buckle which is undecorated. The pin no longer remains. The metal has a dark blackish-brown patina and is worn. The buckle is 15.3mm in diameter, 3.4mm thick and weighs 1.5g. Similar examples are illustrated in Whtiehead p.16 and are dated to circa AD 1250 - 1450.

A complete copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The object is a sub-annular shoe or knee buckle with integral strap bar. The frame is decorated with parallel concave mouldings to either side of the strap bar and bifid ends. The pin no longer remains. The metal has a shiny goldish-black patina and is worn. The buckle is 21.9mm long, 21.2mm wide, 3.9mm thick and weighs 4g.

A complete copper alloy buckle of early-medieval date. The buckle is D-shaped in plan and circular in section with a narrowed and recessed strap bar. The outer edge of the frame is wide and undecorated and the pin no longer remains. Where the frame meets the strap bar it terminates in bulbous knops which are most probably crude representations of animal heads confronting across the bar. Complete copper alloy buckle frame. The frame is asymmetric with an oval loop and a smaller trapezoidal loop for attachment to the strap. The pin is missing and there is a groove around the centre of the strap bar between the two loops where this would have rotated. The frame is roughly flat on both faces with file marks still evident, the trapezoidal loop is sub-square in section whilst the oval loop is more D-shaped in section. A Post Medieval cast copper-alloy double loop vesica-shaped buckle and a fragment of pin, c. AD 1550-1650. The buckle frame is vesica shaped with cusped outside edges created from moulded pellets; there are slight protrusions at either end of the strap bar which have sub-oval holes punched into them. A cast copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date. It is as Meols type 7 with sub-rectangular frame that has an expanded oval outer edge and offset and narrowed cylindrical bar. The front face of each side has decoration formed from multiple short incised grooves. Hinging around the bar is a separately cast copper-alloy pin that is rectangular in form, D-shaped in section with a transverse collar or grip and a rounded tip. The entire object measures 19.48mm in width, 16.79mm in length, 4.25mm in thickness and 2.66g in weight. This buckle frame is of Medieval date, c.14th century AD.

A little over half of the buckle is retained; the integral strap bar is missing the pin but iron corrosion suggests an iron pin. The frame is plain and undecorated. Similar buckles are illustrated in Whitehead (1996, no 317) and are dated to c. AD 1500-1650.

The buckle has elaborate outer frame edges with traces of thick gilding; there is a rounded rest for the pin (retained) and the pin and plate bar is integral. Cast copper alloy D shaped single loop buckle frame of probable Medieval date. The frame is sub-oval in cross section and has a bevelled inner edge. The frame exhibits file marks throughout. The overall condition is very good with an even dark green patina. It measures 16.71 mm in length, width is 22.71 mm and the frame is 2.60mm thick. The object weighs 1.79 grammes. Ross Whitehead 'Buckles 1250-1800' has a similar buckle frame on Page 18, No 40. The buckle frame dates from 1250-1450.
