A complete copper alloy buckle of early-medieval date. The buckle is D-shaped in plan and circular in section with a narrowed and recessed strap bar. The outer edge of the frame is wide and undecorated and the pin no longer remains. Where the frame meets the strap bar it terminates in bulbous knops which are most probably crude representations of animal heads confronting across the bar. Zoomorphic terminals are a common feature of buckles of this period and are intended to represent some sort of quadruped's head, such as a lion or leopard.

A complete copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The object is a sub-annular shoe or knee buckle with integral strap bar. The frame is decorated with parallel concave mouldings to either side of the strap bar and bifid ends. The pin no longer remains.
The metal has a shiny goldish-black patina and is worn. The buckle is 21.9mm long, 21.2mm wide, 3.9mm thick and weighs 4g.
