An incomplete copper-alloy asymmetrical mount from a box or vessel of possible Roman date. Only part of the top of the object survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
The top of the mount is cylindrical before expanding to sub-triangular wings which are D-shaped in section. Beneath the wings the mount narrows before terminating in old breaks.
