An incomplete and worn post medieval cast lead alloy military button. Most of the circumferential edge is missing. There are remains of an iron attachment on the integral loop. The button bears the numerals 55 within a wreath. Steve Newman reports: This is a button of the 55th Regt of Foot who were at this time the 55th (Westmoreland) Regt of Foot.
