29 sherds of Roman pottery, divided into seven fabrics. 1. 11 sherds of Savernake-type greyware dating from the 2nd to 3rd century AD (50-200). The sherds display the characteristic mid-grey to buff fabric with abundant grog and occasional iron-rich grains. The size varies from 33 to 61mm and the sherds collectively weigh 194.2 grams. 2. An incomplete copper-alloy asymmetrical mount from a box or vessel of possible Roman date. Only part of the top of the object survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn. The top of the mount is cylindrical before expanding to sub-triangular wings which are D-shaped in section. Beneath the wings the mount narrows before terminating in old breaks.
