A complete copper seal matrix of medieval date. The seal is a pointed oval or vessica shape with the remains of an integral lug set on a central rib along the longitudinal axis of the reverse. The front face bears a central motif of a right facing bird with head turned back over its shoulder. The image is surrounded by the legend *CREDE FERENTI meaning 'Believe the bearer'.
The metal has a mid blackish-green patina and is worn. The seal is 17.7mm long, 14mm wide, 4.3mm thick and weighs 2.7g.
