An incomplete Roman copper-alloy crescent type Aesica brooch of first century AD date, possibly AD 50-75.
The brooch has a spring-case, half-cylindrical with closed ends. The spring-case has a width of 28.5mm and diameter of 7.0mm. A spring of sixteen coils survives within the spring-case as does the external chord (the chord lays over the top of the spring). It is uncertain whether the chord was held in place by a rear hook or now incomplete lug. The pin is completely missing having broken off close to the spring, the break now worn and its exact location uncertain.

An incomplete copper alloy dolphin brooch of Roman date. The head of the brooch is comprised of tubular wings though one has been lost to an old worn break, and an iron rod can be seen within, representing the remains of the pin mechanism. The pin no longer remains. A circular sectioned bow extends centrally from the front of the wings with a slight upward turn and tapers steadily in width to an extremely worn break. The brooch appears undecorated.
The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is worn. The brooch is 24.4mm long, 17.8mm wide, 6.4mm thick and weighs 4.2g.

Incomplete and distorted Late Iron Age to Early Roman copper alloy Colchester brooch, most of the spring, the pin, the forward facing hook and all but the stump of the catchplate missing. There is no decoration. The bow is of sub-circular cross-section. Wingspan 18mm. Approximate length 72mm. c.20 - c.70 AD.

Copper-alloy Roman disc brooch fragment. The object is very worn and represents teh central part of a disc brooch which would have had a raised border. The reverse has a scar indicating where cathplate and lug would have been. Length 26mm, width 17mm, thickness 2mm, weight 2.36g

A cast copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch, dating from AD 75 - 175. In the centre of the bow is a moulding consisting of a circular collar, flanked above and below by three teardrop shaped knops forming the acanthus decoration, with the rounded end of the teardrops pointing towards the collar.
