A complete copper alloy awl or leather working tool of uncertain date. The awl has a square-sectioned centre which tapers to a fine point at one end while the other end narrows into a flat chisel-like end. It is assumed that one of these ends would form a tang however either end would function well as a leather or possibly a woodworking tool. Most awls like this are dated to the Bronze Age however the form and function of awls changed little in 3000 years, therefore they could date to anywhere between the Bronze Age though to the medieval period. A lead alloy spindle whorl of unknown date, probably Early Medieval to Post Medieval, about AD 850 - 1600. It is Coppergate type B1 (Walton Rogers, 2007, page 25). It is discoidal with a central perforation measuring 9.8mm in diameter. The faces are worn but do not appear to have been decorated. The whorl has a white patina. It is 32.7mm in diameter and 9mm thick. It weighs 59.3g.

A very corroded and encrusted iron horseshoe of uncertain date, but possibly Medieval or Post Medieval. The shoe is asymetrical in plan with a pointed U shaped inner arch. The heels are thickened and one appears to have a calkin, a feature less often seen on Modern examples. One nail survives projecting from the hoof side of the shoe. The toe is a little damaged. The web is wide at 33mm at the toe, and 36mm at the quarters. There is no evidence of the shoe being fullered. The shoe is 100mm long, 98mm wide and 19mm thick at the possible calkin. It weighs 281g.
