A silver denarius of the emperor Trajan (AD 98-117) dating to the period AD 112-114. (Reece Period 5). The obverse depicts a laureate head facing right with drapery on left shoulder and is inscribed IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS VI P P. The reverse depicts Mars advancing right holding spear and trophy and is inscribed S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI. Mint of Rome. RIC vol II, p. 263, no. 270.
