A cast copper alloy trumpet brooch dating from the early Roman period, that is c. AD75-175. The brooch is in excellent condition with body, spring, pin and foot still intact. The trumpet brooch is composed of a strong, sturdy body, spring and pin. The head is trumpet-shaped with a thin moulded around the edges. The trumpet end doubles as the spring housing and there is a small extra loop attached to the back of the trumpet-shaped head. A copper alloy headstud brooch dating to the late 1st or 2nd century AD. The brooch survives complete with head, bow, foot and pin and is in very good condition. The bow and moulded headstud were decorated with what looks like red enamel - some of it still survives in the row of double-semi-circular cells on top of the bow and the crescentic mouldings of the headstud. A complete silvered copper alloy Roman bow and fantail brooch dating to the first or second century AD. The brooch has short undecorated wings and a head loop. The pin axis bar is encased within the wings and the single hinged-pin extends down the bow's length to the catchplate. The catchplate survives complete. No decoration is visible on the wings apart from one narrow oblique groove filled with tinning. Oblique grooves on both sides at the top of the bow meet to form a chevron with its top immediately in front of the rearhook. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy gilded oval plate brooch (AD 200-350) of Hattatt's gilded glass 'Centre-boss' type, consisting of the area for the missing boss and part of the area directly around, and the possibly filed-down remains of the lug and catchplate to the reverse. It measures 23.76x15.97x5.17mm and weighs 4.33g.
