A lead-alloy uniface token of Medieval to Post Medieval date. The token has a raised design of a long cross with a single raised circular pellet in each angle. Lead tokens & weights carrying such simple designs are very difficult to date and were probably locally produced, they are therefore dated broadly c.1250-1800 pending better research into such artefacts.

The token has a raised design of a stylised star or wheel-like symbol consisting of a central pellet and six arms formed of straight raised lines. Lead tokens & weights carrying such simple designs are very difficult to date and were probably locally produced, they are therefore dated broadly c.1250-1800 pending better research into such artefacts.

Three lead-alloy uniface tokens of Medieval to Post Medieval date. All three tokens carry the same raised design of a sun-like symbol consisting of an outer eleven-pointed star with the triangular points set around a circle and within this circle a second smaller circle with with a six pointed star at the centre with a central raised pellet. The section between the two circles of the design is decorated with raised diagonals forming a pattern of triangles. Incomplete Roman copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, West Midlands), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.a-4.b, 4c. The wings and part of the bow survive. The wings are semi cylindrical in section and the ends, although now worn, may have been enclosed - the criteria which would mark this item out as a Polden Hill style brooch. The wings have a circular dished hollow at the centre which would have allowed movement of the pin fitting. Incomplete Roman copper alloy hinged Dolphin brooch. The wings and bow and survive. The wings are cylindrical in section with a lengthways split where the two halves of the folded cylinder would have met and into which the missing axis bar would have been inserted. The folds of this axis bar casing are now heavily damaged and the ends of the wings are missing. The head of the bow is arched and swollen where it meets the wings.The remainder of the bow, which tapers towards the foot is semi-circular in section; there is a single raised ridge forming a crest down the length of the bow. …
