An incomplete gold finger ring of the post-medieval period. The finger ring is now distorted and comprises a bent strip of gold rather than a loop; on one side of the hoop, in its present form the outer surface, there is a continuous band of black letter style decoration. However this does not form an inscription as is seen on posy rings, more it is a continuous line of 'I' like letters around the circumference. There are no other marks or inscriptions. Debased or red gold coin, chipped at one side. Probably a South Ferriby Stater of the Corieltauvi, ABC no. 1743, Van Arsdell no. 811-?2 or 5, Haselgrove period 2 phase 6, issue of 50-20 BC. Obverse description: Apollo wreath, stick with crescents at its end with a pellet enclosed by each, fingered shape at opposite edge. Reverse description: Severely disjointed Celticised horse left, two pellets on stalks below horse, the rays from a star below horse appear next to the broken edge of flan. Diameter: 17.8mm, Thickness: 3.2mm, Weight: 4.95gms, die axis: probably 6.
