I have examined two coins reported found together in Gloucestershire. Both coins are silver denars from central Europe in the early 17th century. One is an issue of the Holy Roman Emperor Matthias, as king of Hungary (1608-19), dated 1617. The identity of the other is less clear, as some of the inscription is obscure. A complete cast lead object probably a weight or gaming piece of uncertain date. It is rectangular in form and section. The front and back face are have inlaid decoration consisting of a pair of wavy longitudinal lines that contain what appears to be inlaid iron, some of which is now missing due to old breaks. This object measures 41.11mm in length, 34.97mm in width, 14.37mm in thickness, 210.54g in weight. A complete cast copper-alloy triangular scale pan of Medieval date. It is flat and has a circular hole at each point for suspension from the beam. It is undecorated but there is old damage in the form of bent edges. This scaling pan measures 43.23mm in length, 24.89mm in width, 0.68mm in thickness, 4.87g in weight. It is similar to examples published from London (Egan, 1998, p. 325, no 1046).

The frame end is recessed to accommodate the frame and has a rectangular pin slot. The front face is decorated with longitudinal rocker decoration. At the attachment end is a central circular rivet hole. This buckle plate measures 34.07mm in length, 11.82mm in width, 0.71mm in thickness, 1.81g in weight. There is a similar example from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, p. 94, no. 421).
