A Post Medieval (16th to 17th centuries) copper-alloy coin weight: It is flat and square in plan with abraded surfaces. The obverse depicts possibly St Michael with a halo spearing a dragon to the right. The reverse is too abraded to see if there was a depiction or not. This coin weight measures 11.74mm in length, 11.34mm in width, 1.58mm in thickness, 1.2g in weight. Withers comments that square brass weights are from Germany or the Low Countries, with those without a reverse are probably German and date to the 16th to 17th centuries. Withers P. & B.R. The front face depicts three lis in a crowned shield, with opposing crowned lis on the outer edge. The reverse carries a maker's mark comprising of a hand, flanked by the letters N? []. The front face depicts a standing figure within a beaded circular border, holding an orb and axe, the letters H D to the sides.
