An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester brooch, dating to the period AD 25-60. The spring and pin is missing as is most of the catchplate, and the rounded bow is now bent and distorted. A similar example can be seen in Hattatt (2007:297) no 1455.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman plate brooch with glass inset, dating to the second - mid third century AD. The brooch is circular in plan with a large cone-shaped blue glass inset in the centre. Around this is a recessed field decorated with wavy linears around the circumference. The outer rim is slightly raised. On the revers the remains of the pin lug and catchplate are retained. Iron corrosion around the lug show an iron pin was used. A direct comparison can be seen in Hattatt (2007:364) no. 639.

A Roman Polden Hill type brooch (AD c. 80-120): The incomplete copper alloy semi-cylindrical wings, terminating with incomplete perforated wing caps. The wings are undecorated. At the junction of the wings and bow head has the remains of an integral lug which would have held the chord in place. The axis bar, spring and pin are all missing. A late Iron Age or Roman La Tene III type Nauheim derivative brooch dating to the period c.25- 100 AD. The pin is intact and extends at a 45 degree angle away from the integral spring which consists of four coils, one of which loops under the head. The bow extends back from the head and is sub-triangular in shape. At its widest point just below the head it measures 9.88mm, at its narrowest point where it joins the foot it measures 1.46mm. An incomplete copper alloy small square-headed brooch dating to the early-medieval (Anglo-Saxon) period. The brooch has been subjected to high temperatures as the lower half of the brooch has been melted and is now twisted and buckled. The brooch has a rectangular head plate that has zoomorphic mouldings in Salin's Style 1, appearing to comprise an intertwined beast. Copper alloy disc brooch which is made from a circular plate decorated with a raised central dot surrounded by a six pointed star motif that has roundels at each point. The recess inside the star is filled with red enamel and the recess outside is filled with blue enamel. On the reverse is the mount for the spring and the catch plate, both are truncated. This artefact dates to the 2nd century.

An incomplete copper alloy small Kentish square-headed brooch, dating to the early-medieval (Anglo-Saxon) period. The surviving element comprises just under half of the original brooch, the foot andhalf of the arched bow. The reverse of the brooch retains a lug, which is part of the catchplate. The brooch is decorated with raised mouldings that form an opework latin-style cross with rounded foot and two rounded knops above the arms; the surviving part of the bow has linear mouldings. This brooch dates from the 6th century AD.

An incomplete copper alloy small-long brooch dating to the early-medieval (Anglo-Saxon) period. Leeds 1945 square-head type, the remaining brooch element comprises only the head-plate and the stump of the missing bow on the lower edge. The head is decorated with five ring-and-dot motifs, one each on the outer corner, and the fifth off centre. There is the remains of the single pin lug on the reverse. The break across the bow is ancient. Small long brooches date from c. AD 475-575.

Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch that has an oval head plate that is surmounted by a truncated loop. on the reverse are two rearward facing perforated lug that holds the spring support bar, the spring is made from iron and is now heavily corroded. On the apex of the bow is a full-round moulding consisting of a plain transverse ridge between two petalled elements. There is a hole in the front of the bow, just below the moulding, which is a casting flaw. Small footknob. The catch plate on the reverse is complete andn turns to the left when viewed from behind. Date 75-175AD.
