Drawn bead with cylindrical central perforation. Opaque white core, cased in opaque red, cased in opaque white and cased in translucent blue. The inner layer form star patternss. Diameter is roughly Cylindrical, but upper and lower surface are not straight. Some signs of wear. Small bubbles visible especially on the upper and lower surface. Slight milky weathering.
Interpretation
This bead belongs to a large group of beads known as 'Chevron' beads. They were produced in Venice in a number of Conterie workshops, such as Vaccari on Murano, but some variation were also produced …

The bead material consists of a monochrome opaque yellow glass with small bubbles. From the image it is unclear whether the brown specks visible on the surface are inclusions or remains of the soil.
Laid onto the body are two polychrome trails, marvered flush into the surface. One consists of opaque white, opaque dark blue and transparent greenish glass, the other of a trail consisting of a band of opaque red, opaque white opaque blue, opaque white and opaque red glass. Both trails were applied in short zigzag, but not twisted.

A cast copper alloy post medieval crotal bell with internal pellet dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1700. The bell features a sub-rectangular suspension loop with a circular perforation filled with iron corrosion. This corrosion extends from the perforation down the upper half of the bell in a broken oval showing the shape of the loop when it was intact. The upper half of the body is decorated with radiating grooves which form ten oval petals. A Medieval copper alloy buckle frame. It is sub-oval in shape with two straight sides and two curved shorter sides. The outer straight edge is decorated with two protruding outer knops and two knops in between. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed. It belongs to Meols Type 8, which is suggested to be of late 13th to 14th century date (Griffiths et al. 2007, 90).

An incomplete Roman (AD 50-150) copper alloy Colchester Derivative initial T-shaped brooch of Hull T121B,with hinge mechanism, missing part of the pin. The brooch measures 46.2mm in length and weighs 5.93 grams.

A copper alloy heraldic horse harness penadnt dating to the 14th or 15th century AD. The harness pendant is quite large, heater-shield shaped and has an heraldic depiction on one side. The heraldic device can be described as gules, a three-towered castle, in chief, a lion passant guardant, or. Although a direct comparison is still being sought, the arms may be those of a town, possible Newbury. The pendant has been pierced at its base to aid attachment to the strap. The perpendicular suspension loop is extant. Traces of gilding remain.

Cast fastener comprising a toggle formed as a dumbbell button of two conjoined spheres, but with an integrally cast triangular loop springing from a thick central moulding between them, and offset behind the toggle. The loop is now torn. The dumbbell button is a form of Late Iron Age and Early Roman currency. Suggested date: Roman, 43-300.

Copper alloy toggle. Cast dumbbell button comprising two unequally sized and elongated spheres linked at a central waist. The re may have been a collar between the spheres, though only a slight groove now remains at the base of one of them. The type is considered of early Roman date, but was also favoured in Late Iron Age East Yorkshire, where versions were made of bone as well as metal. Suggested date: Early Roman, 43-100.

Copper alloy strap fitting. Cast strap slide comprising an oval-ended plate with three triangular cut outs along its longer edges and with a sub-divided rectangular loop behind. A central longitudinal rib bears a series of vertical cuts. At the back, one end of the plate bears a short square section lug and the other end has the stub of a similar feature; both may originally have extended to define a total of three square loops where one now remains. Copper alloy figurine of a cockerel. It is rendered in quasi-naturalistic form with flattened comb and tail feathers and a broader stumpy body with abbreviated wings against its sides. The body stands on a round section lug representing the legs, with the stub of a peg in its base. This object is presumably from a grouping of the god Mercury and his accompanying animals: a goat and a cock, and the peg may suggest this comprised separate figurines mounted together. Cast rectangular plate with an open triangular loop of length 22mm behind it, now bent but originally with the loop in the same plane as the plate, Wild class 6a. The surface of the plate is divided into two rows of five rectangular cells apt to retain enamel within a wide plain border, though scant trace of colourant now remains. Copper alloy possible mount fragment. Copper alloy sheet with repousse motifs of circles or spirals, bordered at one edge by a pelleted or billeted line. This object could equally be part of a metal clad object such as a helmet. All the edges appear torn or cut, and one end of the fragment is folded back on itself. The form and curvilinear motifs recall the fragmentary plaque from Elmswell, East Yorkshire, which was perhaps a casket mount. Suggested date: Late Iron Age, 100 BC- AD43.
