A Roman copper alloy incomplete trumpet brooch. It has a plain, slightly flattened trumpet head. To the rear part of the spring remains in situ, secured by an integral lug. Above this is a short projection, which probably supported a loose wire headloop originally. The bow is strongly curved in profile with an acanthus moulding in the centre extending all the way around and flanked by two grooves. A Roman copper alloy incomplete symetrical plate brooch. It is lozenge shaped with a central lozenge recess on the outer face containing a raised annulet in the middle with four smaller annulets arranged around the outside. The central annulet contains traces of green enamel. At each corner of the plate is a circular projection. The outer faces of these are decorated with a central circular recess, each encircled by a groove. To the reverse the hinge and catch-plate remain intact, but part of the pin is missing. 2nd to early 3rd century (Bayley and Butcher, 2004, 176)
