An incomplete copper alloy Roman plate brooch with glass inset, dating to the second - mid third century AD. The brooch is circular in plan with a large cone-shaped blue glass inset in the centre. Around this is a recessed field decorated with wavy linears around the circumference. The outer rim is slightly raised. On the revers the remains of the pin lug and catchplate are retained. Iron corrosion around the lug show an iron pin was used. A direct comparison can be seen in Hattatt (2007:364) no. 639.

A copper-alloy fragment, possibly of a late Roman strip bracelet dating from c. AD 250-410. The fragment is uneven in thickness at its broken ends with the thinner end being semi-circular in cross-section and 3.7 mm thick and the thicker end sub-rectangular in cross-section, measuring 5.3 mm thick. Copper alloy toggle. Cast dumbbell button comprising two unequally sized and elongated spheres linked at a central waist. The re may have been a collar between the spheres, though only a slight groove now remains at the base of one of them. The type is considered of early Roman date, but was also favoured in Late Iron Age East Yorkshire, where versions were made of bone as well as metal. Suggested date: Early Roman, 43-100.

Copper alloy figurine of a cockerel. It is rendered in quasi-naturalistic form with flattened comb and tail feathers and a broader stumpy body with abbreviated wings against its sides. The body stands on a round section lug representing the legs, with the stub of a peg in its base. This object is presumably from a grouping of the god Mercury and his accompanying animals: a goat and a cock, and the peg may suggest this comprised separate figurines mounted together. Copper alloy button and loop fastener. Cast rectangular plate with an open triangular loop of length 22mm behind it, now bent but originally with the loop in the same plane as the plate, Wild class 6a. The surface of the plate is divided into two rows of five rectangular cells apt to retain enamel within a wide plain border, though scant trace of colourant now remains. Suggested date: Early Roman, 100-200.

Description: Fragment of Roman silver finger ring which has been broken at the shoulders leaving only the bezel and part of one shoulder. The oval bezel is slightly raised above the shoulders with a flat top and rounded edges. It is inscribed with unclear lettering. Cast copper alloy Polden Hill brooch of flat wing ends type. Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings which hold the spring support bar. The spring is made from thirteen curls, the pin is truncated. There is a loop on the top of the head for the external cord of the spring, The head is formed from a flat strip that is angled to forming arch of the bow and decorated with two recessed rectangular pannels. An incomplete Roman (AD 50-150) copper alloy Colchester Derivative initial T-shaped brooch of Hull T121B,with hinge mechanism, missing part of the pin. The brooch measures 46.2mm in length and weighs 5.93 grams.

A Roman copper alloy incomplete nail cleaner with moulded neck and shouldered blade. It has a circular suspension loop set at a right angle to the blade, which contains traces of iron corrosion product. Below this is short handle with bead, reel and spool mouldings. The blade is leaf-shaped and its tip is missing. A very similar example was found at Lion Walk, Colchester (Crummy 1983, 58, 1872). Crummy (ibid.) suggests that this is a developed form that was in use from the mid to late 1st century, probably continuing into the 2nd century.

A Roman copper alloy incomplete trumpet brooch. It has a plain, slightly flattened trumpet head. To the rear part of the spring remains in situ, secured by an integral lug. Above this is a short projection, which probably supported a loose wire headloop originally. The bow is strongly curved in profile with an acanthus moulding in the centre extending all the way around and flanked by two grooves.
