A Medieval to post-Medieval leg/foot from a cast copper-alloy cooking vessel (c. 1250-c. 1650). The object is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. The front is divided by a prominent horizontal rib which is situated about mid-way along its length. Above and below this rib there is a central vertical rib flanked on either side by a less prominent rib. The rear face is flat and plain and the base of the foot is rounded and worn. Cast vessel spout of zoomorphic form, representing the head of a beast, possibly a lioness or hound, with gaping jaws through which protrudes a round tube of internal diameter 7.5mm. A complete sheet copper-alloy vessel mend or repair of Medieval date. It is formed from a single lozenge shaped sheet that is folded twice to create a simple rivet. This vessel mend measures 14.93mm in length, 12.56mm in width, 2.31mm in thickness, 1.11g in weight. There is a similar example from London (Egan, 1998, p. 176, no. 489).
