An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester brooch, dating to the period AD 25-60. The spring and pin is missing as is most of the catchplate, and the rounded bow is now bent and distorted. A similar example can be seen in Hattatt (2007:297) no 1455.

A late Iron Age or Roman La Tene III type Nauheim derivative brooch dating to the period c.25- 100 AD. The pin is intact and extends at a 45 degree angle away from the integral spring which consists of four coils, one of which loops under the head. The bow extends back from the head and is sub-triangular in shape. At its widest point just below the head it measures 9.88mm, at its narrowest point where it joins the foot it measures 1.46mm. An incomplete copper alloy Iron Age to Roman strip bow brooch dating to the period c. AD 25-75. The brooch is missing the pin and the curl of the catch plate. It measures 54.45mm in length, 21.05mm at its widest point (across the wings), 2.75mm at its narrowest point (tip of the foot) and weighs 6.79 grams. The tubular wing span is 21.05mm and c. 4.6mm in diameter. The pin slot contains the remains of the corroded iron pin, whcih are also visible inside the tubular wings. Copper alloy possible mount fragment. Copper alloy sheet with repousse motifs of circles or spirals, bordered at one edge by a pelleted or billeted line. This object could equally be part of a metal clad object such as a helmet. All the edges appear torn or cut, and one end of the fragment is folded back on itself. The form and curvilinear motifs recall the fragmentary plaque from Elmswell, East Yorkshire, which was perhaps a casket mount. Suggested date: Late Iron Age, 100 BC- AD43. Length (as found): 56.6mm, Width: 32.0mm, Thickness (sheet): 0.7mm, Weight: 7.07gms.

An incomplete copper alloy Iron Age (AD c.10-c.100) La Tène III Nauheim derivative brooch, missing the pin and some of the spring. It has been slightly bent out of shape. Overall it measures 51.95mm in length, 6.95mm in width and 6.85mm in thickness. It weighs 2.93 grams. The brooch has a three or four turn spring (only two turns survive) and a curving bow, which is rectangular in section.
