A cast lead alloy weight. The weight is in the form of an oblate spheroid with a 4mm diameter axial hole between the flattened ends. Weights of this form were probably used to provide sinker and inertial capability on such things as fishing lines, bird nets and snares. Length 13.4mm, diameter 20mm, weight 27.5g. The relatively small size and narrow central hole probably preclude its use as a spindle whorl. The longevity of the design and lack of diagnostic features means that outside of an archaeological context they can only be given a very wide date range. Circa 50-1800 AD.

Medieval (c.14th/15th century) possible sword pommel: The pommel is the lead which would then be encased in a copper alloy shell. The artefact has a base which has a off-centre annulet within an irregular concave base. In plan the base is hexagonal, and in profile the lower portion is vertical and the upper portion is a conical whilst maintaining the hexagonal section. The surface has a beige coloured patina. Late Iron Age to early Roman (c. 100 BC to c. AD 100) simple terret. The copper alloy terret is fragmentary. What remains is a portion of the loop, the collar and the cross bar. The loop is slender and tapers towards a break. This curvature on this portion of the loop is quite shallow which is unusual. The collar at the lower terminal of the loop is an expanded oval in plan.
