Incomplete late early-medieval copper alloy Borre-style flat disc brooch of Kershaw 2013 East Anglian Series Type I, in quite fresh condition but bent and with less than one third missing as a result of careful chopping along a chord. The pin, which would have been of iron, is missing. On the reverse there is an Anglo-Scandinavian fusion of pin fittings (ibid. fig. 2.14): an incomplete single transverse pin lug (Anglo-Saxon) and a small catchplate.set at right angles to the edge (Scandinavian). Post medieval silver penny of Henry VIII (1509-1547), sovereign type (king enthroned), first coinage, issued under Bishop Thomas Ruthall at Durham, initial mark lis, AD 1509-1523, North (1991:110) no. 1776. The coin has been pierced near the edge at 4 o'clock on obverse and 7 o'clock on reverse. The hole is circular with a raised smooth burr on both sides suggesting it was made by drilling. The edge opposite is bent backwards and ragged.

A copper alloy fragment of a probable book fitting, dating to the Medieval period. The fitting is formed of a copper alloy strip, rectangular in plan, which tapers in width. From the wider end projects an integral, rectangular tab that curves back over itself forming an ovoid loop. The narrow end terminates in an old, worn break. The fitting is now mis-shaped and has several bends along the width. The front bears a rectangular panel with moulded text, possibly in black letter form. Roman copper alloy rosette brooch back plate, 35mm long, 23mmm wide and 7mm thick and weighing 3.24grams. The object consists of the triangular foot of the brooch which has a silvered surface and has a zig-zag incised line running up its centre. The reverse holds a catch plate which fills its length. Above the triangular foot is the base of a circular plate which has broken irregularly. There is no silvering on this section and it has a whitish deposit in patches. A good parallel without silvering can be found at BH-1E88B8.
