A Medieval, silver halfgroat of Edward III, 4th coinage, Treaty Period, London mint. There are flaws in the silver on both obverse and reverse, probably caused during manufacture of the coin blank. There is some light clipping to the edge of the coin.

Cast copper- or lead-alloy enamelled badge, probably dating from the early modern period, that is c. AD1700-1900. The badge appears to be machine-made with a rough surface to hold the enamel. Most of the enamel is missing, but some of it is still in place. The badge is shield-shaped with a plain reverse. A small stud or pin was soldered to the reverse. The pin/stud is now missing, but some of the solder remains. The shield is per fess, with an unknown charge in the lower half and a lion walking left in the upper half. Background in upper part is azure.

Cast copper alloy dress hook dating from the post-medieval period, that is c. AD1500-1700. The dress hook is largely complete with only the hook itself missing. The main body was decorated with moulded and openwork decoration: there is a moulded heart within a circular border, and two moulded collars separating the body and hook. There is a large rectangular opening at the opposing side, for sewing the dress hook to the garment/attachment.

Very small, worn cast copper alloy key (locking) dating from the medieval period that is c. AD1200-1500.The key is complete but the surface is very worn with large patches of bronze disease present. The key has a small handle, narrow shank and a comparatively small bit. It was probably use for a small chest or box.

Cast copper alloy buckle frame and pin, probably dating from the post-medieval period, that is c. AD1500-1700. The buckle frame and pin are complete. The buckle frame is of elongated trapezoidal shape, with decoratively moulded rounded corners. The decoration consisted of garlands or floral ribbons moulded into the frame of the buckle, especially noticable at the two corners. NB: The find was not seen by the FLO. While the reverse is plain, the obverse is decorated with incised decoration which may have held a niello inlay. The imagery is difficult to identify from the image, but the style of decoration suggests something floral rather than figurative or geometric. This probably means that the iron pea is still inside the bell. It was probably decoration with a moulded petalled decoration and possibly had a makers mark at the bottom. Cast copper alloy key for the tuning of musical instruments, dating from the medieval period, that is the 14th or 15th century. The key is hammer-shaped, with moulded decoration and only slightly damaged at the bottom. It should have had an opening at the bottom, conical in shape which would have been used for the tuning of (possibly stringed) instruments, as similar finds in the National Music Museum suggest (http://orgs.usd.edu/nmm/News/Newsletter/December2010/ToolsArticle.html).
