A Post Medieval gold posy ring. The band is flat and the edges of the ring are rolled outwards to form a slight lip around the exterior. The exterior is decorated with engraved diagonal lines which may have once held enamel. These diagonal lines are within the border formed by the lip. The ring is inscribed on the interior with '+ I + LIVE + IN + HOPE' in roman capitals. The hoop is squashed and misshapen due to damage. Fragment of a Roman silver TOT ring. The bezel is oval and the wings are likely to have been triangular, thuis Henig type VIII. The hoop is missing. The bezel is inscribed with the letters TOT, an abbreviation of the Celtic god-name Totatis.

Description: Medieval iconographic silver-gilt finger ring, probably fifteenth century in date. The ring has a ridged, bi-faceted bezel; each facet is crudely engraved with a Saint. The hoop is D-shaped in section and decorated with a series of raised diagonal bands, with transverse grooves across them giving a beaded affect. Those in the shoulder area have additional decoration in the form of incised crosses between them. A complete cast copper alloy finger ring, of probable Early Post Medieval dating (16th to 17th Centuries AD). The finger ring is of the signet ring style, with a raised circular bezel. The shoulders are plain and expand slightly out from the width of the hoop. The hoop is plain and D shaped in cross section. The hoop measures 24mm in diameter.
