One half of a post-Medieval copper-alloy clothing fastening. The fitting has a rectangular hanger at the top and a rearward, inverted-T-shaped projection at base. Between these two elements is the plate, which is of openwork form, the central feature being a column with scalloped sides and a moulded pellet at its mid-point. A cast copper-alloy leg from a medieval to post-medieval cooking vessel. The leg is of broadly triangular section, flat on the underside and back. A transverse moulded band separates the leg from the foot, the latter of which is of stylised form, its five moulded toes separated by 'V-sectioned' grooves. The surface of one disc bears the relief-stamped legend 'WORS/TED RE/FORME/D', whereas the other disc has the number '41' over a background of vine scroll. A copper-alloy Roman Colchester-derivative brooch, dating from the mid to late 1st century AD. The largely complete spring, comprising nine coils, is located within the hollow underside of the wings, but the pin is missing. A copper-alloy thimble, dating from the Late Medieval to early post-Medieval periods. The diameter of the damaged thimble gradually decreases towards the domed top. At the base of the outer surface, there is a plain band; the apex is also plain, whereas the rest of the surface is covered with rows of circular indentations. Height: 19.9mm; width at base: 21.9mm; thickness: 1.4mm. Weight: 3.23g. Several similar thimbles were found in excavations at Southwark, London, mostly in layers dating from the late 15th to 17th centuries (Egan 2005: 131 - 133).
