A complete Post Medieval cast unifaced lead token, c. AD 1550-1800. Powell Type 2. The token is inscribed with a letter E, a pellet and then either a reverse C or a crescent; the other face is undecorated. The token measures 21.24mm in diameter and is 3.34mm thick and it weighs 9.3 grams. Lead tokens were easy to produce and widely circulated; therfore they are difficult to date precisely. Those with letter initials are thought to date to the Post Medieval period and are given a general date of c. 1550-1800 AD.

A medieval to post medieval lead alloy uniface token probably dating 17th-18th century. Powell type 3. The obverse appears to be decorated in a spider web design, however the token is very worn with damage to the edges. There are two clear lines close together, radiating from the centre, which might mean this is a ship decoration Powell type 6. The token is also slightly umbonate in shape, probably caused by post-depositional damage. No exact parallels can be found for this example though similar tokens are on the PAS database: Ship: PUBLIC-B29AB7; Spider web: LIN-440400 and KENT…
