Probably the arched bow-section of a Roman crossbow brooch. Consisting of a triangular-sectioned curved copper alloy bar with the flat edge on the outside of the curve and the inner edge slightly rounded. There are ancient transverse breaks at both ends, one of which narrows from the outer face in a sharp curve before the break. Surviving length 48mm. Thickness 7mm. Width of bar 12.5mm. 3rd-4th century AD.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy brooch of Roman date.Only the bottom of the foot and part of the catchplate survive, the remainder now missing due to old breaks. The surviving fragment is flat, triangular in form with a complete lower edge, terminating in old breaks in all other directions. On the back face is a vertical rib that represents the remains of the catchplate. A body sherd from a Roman (AD c.100-410) Oxfordshire white-ware mortarium and a lead vessel repair. The fabric is hard and cream/off white in colour. There are frequent small black inclusions. The trituration grit consists of rounded translucent pink, black, white and brown quartz inclusions on the inner surface. Overall the sherd measures 43.75mm long, 43.60mm wide and 17.95mm thick. It weighs 28.88g. The lead repair is formed like a rivet 18.75mm long with expanded ends on either side of the sherd.

A Roman to Modern blue glass bead. The bead is circular in plan with a circular hole at the centre. Both faces are flat and the sides are rounded, creating a 'C'- shaped profile. The glass is opaque and there are non-uniform small white inclusions within the glass fabric. The bead measures 11.5mm in diameter and 7mm in thickness.

A body sherd from a Roman (AD c.200-410) red slipped Oxfordshire ware wheel-thrown vessel. The fabric is hard and orangey red in colour with a grey-buff slightly reduced core, and a red slip on the surface. There are some small sandy inclusions. Overall it measures 37.55mm in height, 70.10mm wide and 30.90mm thick. It has a wall thickness of 6.40mm. It weighs 34.59g. The shape of the curve suggests the sherd came from a bowl (cf Young's C51 type).

A body sherd from a Roman (AD c.43-410) grey ware wheel-thrown vessel. The fabric is hard and grey in colour, with a reduced black core sandwiched within a slightly red outer margin. The fabric has inclusions of common mica, sparse iron-rich grains and sparse quartz fragments, all of which are well sorted. The outer surface is decorated with two circumferential grooves. The shape of the curve suggests that the sherd is from a jar rather than a bowl. Overall it measures 84.70mm high, 72.85mm wide and has a wall thickness of 4.60mm. It weighs 31.79g.
