A cast lead alloy spindle whorl dating from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period. The object is sub-circular in plan with irregualr edges and is conical. It has a large central circular perforation with an internal diameter of 9.30mm. Each face is undecorated. It has a light brown patina and has been crudely made.
Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the Medieval period c.1100-1500.

Cast copper alloy horse harness pendant that has a quatrefoil shaped plate with a projecting loop on the top edge for suspension. The plate is decorated with a shield in the centre that has an animal rampant in the field (this maybe a griffin, but wear and corrosion have obscured most of the detail), the shield is flanked by a key to the left and a second possible key to the right. The areas in between the detail is recessed and would have been filled with enamel, however no traces of the enamel remain. 1270-1400.

An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy (latten) spoon (1550-1650).
The bowl and part of the stem are missing.
The knop is of the seal top type and has a flat top with a diameter of 11.2mm. There is no evidence of pricked initials on the top. Below the top it is in baluster form:
constriction/ball/constriction/collar.
The stem is flattened-oval in cross-section and has an old transverse break.
This spoon is corroded overall.
Height (if straightened): c. 85.5mm; diameter of sealtop: 11.2mm; width of stem: 5.0mm; thickness of stem: 3.6mm. Weight: 8.45g.

Treasure reference number 2014 T353: a medieval silver finger ring (AD c.1200-1400). The bezel is formed by twin miniature bezels, each holding an oval setting. The area between them is open. The shoulders of both minature bezels meet a square panel at either side. Both panels are decorated with an incised border and a central cross (X), with a pellet in each angle. The hoop tapers to the base. The hoop is mishapen at the base and contains a small crack. Traces of gilding survive on the bezels and the panels.

A fragment of a copper-alloy artefact, probably representing the lower portion of a Roman vessel escutcheon.
The surviving piece tapers to a basal point, is hollow on the underside and has a faceted outer surface. The upper surfaces slope gently upwards from the outer sides, terminating in a vertical ridge, along which extends an incised ropework band. Also on these two upper surfaces, a similar, but wider, band extends parallel to the outer sides of the piece. Medieval - early Post Medieval copper alloy robust thimble with sloping sides and domed top. The top and sides are covered in a continuous spiral of circular pits starting at the crown with no bare tonsure. There is an incised plain line around the base with a plain rim below it. The rim has several folds which show on the outerside as cracks but have folds of metal on the inner side. The thimble is 16.8mm tall, 17.6mm in diameter at the base, 1.0mm thick and weighs 4.20 grams.

The vervel is of a D- ring form, comprising a flat silver ring inscribed with E. EYTON OF and with a shield soldered to the front with a fret (knot, saltire within lozenge).

This is formed of a convexly dished disc of copper-alloy sheet metal which has been perforated by hand through the upper surface using a broadly circular punch for the holes. The perforations are arranged in approximate concentric circles and are of comparable sizes. To one side around a quarter of the disc has been lost due to old breaks at a number of the holes which extend to cracks which travel into the object. Early Medieval (11th century) harness fitting: bridle cheek piece. The copper alloy cheekpiece remaining is an arm terminating in a loop and the other terminal is a fragment of a flat plate. The loop is oval in plan, with an oval perforation. The upper face of the loop has obliquely an angled surface, as does the underside.
