A copper alloy buckle dating to cAD 300 - 400. The strap end is attached to the buckle but the pin is missing. The buckle comprises a single semi-circular loop which flattens on the side attached to the strap end. The loop is circular in section. The strap end comprises a single sheet of metal folded over the loop and with a slot in the centre for the pin. The strap end has two rivet holes at the end furthest from the loop, although the rivets are missing. A large late Roman plain cast copper alloy buckle frame with an integral triangular plate. The ensemble measures 67.83mm and is 35.52mm wide. One of the two surviving rivets measures 7.82 in length. The frame is wide and forms an oval. The triangular plate ends in a circular terminal which is pierced for a rivet. Two other rivets penetrate the plate adjacent to the missing pin which was of iron.

A copper alloy buckle pin of medieval date. The thick and chunky pin has a cast loop which is broken, and a cast collar on the upper face only. The collar has a long raised area (6mm long) with the upper face faceted, and a raised transverse ridge extending into a T shaped line between this area and the loop. It has a grey patina. It is 38.3mm long, 4mm wide and 6mm thick. 3.6g.

A late medieval or post-medieval copper alloy double oval buckle with integral central bar. Both ends of the frame have moulded decoration. At one end is a small rounded projection perhaps in the form of a bird's head. The other end of the frame has a ribbed trangular projection, perhaps representing the tail of a bird. An incomplete copper alloy pin is attached to the central bar. Similar buckles are recorded as SOM-6BE638, WMAS-F40ED8 and NMS-90DEB3.

A complete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy double looped buckle (1550-1650). This buckle frame is convex and decorated at the front and flat at the rear. Each oval loop is similar in size and shape. There are two small knops on each outer edge. The narrowed bar is sub-rectangular in cross-section, flat at the rear and has a pointed knop at each end. A cast copper alloy, double loop oval buckle dating from the late Medieval or early post-Medieval period, AD 1350 - 1650. The frame is undecorated, flat on the underside and slightly bevelled on the upper surface. The pin is missing. The buckle has a light brown patina. It is 30.5mm long, 29.2mm wide and 2.9mm thick. It weighs 5.05gm. Similar buckles are illustrated in Whitehead, 2003, Buckles 1250 - 1800, page 53.

A cast copper alloy, single loop rectangular buckle of Medieval date, AD 1300 - 1500. It is similar to Meols type C buckles which date from the late 14th century. The sides of the frame are convex, the strap bar is narrowed and offset, and the broad outer edge of the frame has three transverse grooves in the centre. The hinges of the missing plate have worn the bar, leaving a thicker area in the centre where the pin was attached (also now missing). The buckle has a light brown patina. Medieval copper alloy singl elooped buckle. The object is sub rectangular in form and section and consists of a circular sectioned strap bar from which emerges two curved rectangular sectioned arms. These terminate with a sub cuoboidal knop which sit either side of a circular sectioned bar which would have been covered with a sheet roller. The buckle matches No 96, p.22 in Whiteheads buckles.

A copper alloy Post Medieval double looped buckle, with just one loop surviving. It dates from about AD 1550 - 1650. There is a moulded flower at each end of the strap bar and at the apex of the loop. The sides of the frame are rounded and expand towards the apex. There are extensive remains of gilding on the frame. The reverse is slightly concave. The breaks are worn and patinated. The pin also survives. It is looped round the bar and is also gilded. The buckle is similar to examples on page 66 of Whitehead. It is 35mm long, 29.75mm wide and 2.69mm thick. 6.79g.

Medieval or post-medieval plain cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame. The frame has one surviving oval loop with the stubs of the second, the rest is lost to old breaks. The remaining loop has a flat back and inner edge and angled outer edge. It is badly corroded and varies in width around the loop but this appears to be due to corrosion rather than original. The strap bar is narrowed with a triangular cross-section. The pin is missing. It is 13.8mm long, 18.6mm wide and 2.5mm thick, it weighs 0.85 grams. An incomplete copper alloy composite buckle, of Medieval dating (c.AD 1350 to c. AD 1450). The buckle consists of a forked spacer frame, front and back buckle plates and a pin. The spacer frame is oval in plan with a lentoid projection (oval knop) at one end and probably two linear stepped projections at the other. The linear projections are obscured from view by the attached buckle plates. In profile the spacer frame is sub rectangular and in cross section it is oval.
