A complete Mesolithic flint adze or pick-like axehead (c. 10000-c. 4000 BC).
This implement, manufactured on an elongated pebble, is sub-rectangular in plan. It is sub-triangular in cross-section close to the butt end and roughly pointed-oval close to the cutting edge. The butt end is rounded and has some cortex and the cutting edge has been crudely fashioned (not a true tranchet removal).
One face is convex and the opposite face is flatter. Where it has been knapped it is orange and crisp. Off-white cortex on both faces is worn.
