A copper-alloy mount from the Medieval period, circa 13th-14th century. The mount is in the shape of a bow, with a sub-oval centre and two flaring terminals with squared-off ends.The mount is convex to the front, concave to the back and appears to be die-pressed/stamped. Located near the centre are the in situ remains of a corroded iron rivet. The mount is undecorated and has an olive green patina Reference: Egan,G. and Pritchard, F. Dress accessories, 1150-1450, page 214 for similar examples. Length of mount: 12.50 mm. Width: 7.93 mm. Thickness: 2.60 mm. Weight: 0.383 grams.

Post-medieval copper alloy coin weight, circular, bi-face, diameter 13.5mm, thickness 2.2mm, with the same incuse legend on both faces: 6 · 9 superscribed S P For ¼ moidore (Portuguese gold coin). Weight 2.60g / 40.2 grains ( ¼ moidore weighs 2.69g / 41.5 grains). The moidure was worth 27s (i.e. 4 x 4s 9d). See Withers and Withers 1995, 52 and 55-6..

An incomplete and worn cast copper-alloy Hod Hill brooch. It is missing the pin the edges of the bow due to old breaks, the head currently bent almost flat against the back face of the bow due to post-depositional damage. Cast copper alloy purse bar dating from the late medieval or early post-medieval period, that is c. AD1450-1550. Ward Perkins Class A1. What remains of the purse frame is only the bar; the lower part of the frame and purse have broken off. the horizontal bar, however, is nearly complete with only the separate suspension loop missing. Cast copper-alloy beehive-shaped thimble, probably made from stamped sheet metal (less likely cast) with individually drilled holes dating from the late medieval or early post-medieval period, that is the 15th and 16th centuries. The thimble is complete, but with a very worn jagged edge. There is no decoration except a horizontal band around its lower edge and c. 250 individually drilled perforations, made by a 'thimbler'. It was probably made from sheet metal and is now very slightly bent. NB The find was not seen by the FLO. Image and findspot information kindly supplied by finder.

Cast copper alloy dress hook dating from the post-medieval period, that is c. AD1500-1700. The dress hook is complete but slightly bent. It has a long curved hook with pointy end on one side and a trapezoidal loop on the other. The body is a solid-cast domed circle with hollow-out back and moulded decoration on the obverse. The decoration on the obverse consists of moulded leaves and a central dot - possibly depicting the Tudor rose. NB: Find not seen by FLO. Image and findspot information kindly supplied by finder.
