A copper-alloy Roman bow brooch fragment consisting of the catchplate and lower part of the bow.
The remaining bow tapers to a pointed foot. The catchplate is unperforated and has a rolled outer side.
The style and shape suggest a T-shape brooch of c.AD 50-125. It is of cast construction and has a matt green patina. Reference: Richard Hattatt. ANCIENT AND ROMANO-BRITISH BROOCHES. Page 66 Dolphin brooches. Length of brooch: 30.33mm. Width: 11.67 mm. Thickness 4.23 mm. Weight: 2.348 grams.

A silver denarius of Julia Maesa dating to the period AD 218 to 222 (Reece period 10). SAECVLI FELICITAS reverse type depicting Felicitas standing left holding long caduceus and sacrificing over lighted altar; in field, left, a star. Probably Mint of Rome. RIC IV, p.50, no. 272. The coin is 18mm in diameter and weighs 2.0g. The obverse style is probably Rome, but could be Antioch.

An earthenware rim sherd of probable medieval date, c.1100-1300. The vessel fragment is unglazed, with a simple rim. The fabric has been tempered with angular and rounded sand/quartz and flint inclusions which are well sorted. The exterior surfaces are pinkish and the buff fabric has evidence of reduction. The fabric is hard and does not scratch with the fingernail. the vessel appears to be handmade. Height of fragment: 25.61 mm. Width: 41.31 mm. Thickness: 8.50 mm. Weight: 9.615 grams.

A cast medieval copper-alloy zoomorphic style mount.
The mount is sub-oval in plan, has a convex upper surface and concave underside. A horizontal slit in the bottom edge gives the impression of a gaping mouth, and the overall effect is of a forward-facing mask, albeit heavily stylised.Decoration is by a series of straight lines radiating outwards from the centre, with some cross-hatching near the top, At the centre is visible the head of an in situ copper-alloy rivet which sits flush to the surface.The object has a matt olive green patina.

A circular copper-alloy possible harness pendant of the medieval period (c. 12th-13th century). The front depicts a left facing lion passant with a long tail within a beaded border with cusps: on clearer examples there are a total of seven tendrils that spring inwardly in an anti-clockwise direction. The design is encircled with an inscription reading: + IE SVI : CRISTVS : (AM)I (I am a friend of Christ). The pendant has a simple loop set at right angles, bent to one side as a result of old damage. There is evidence of tinning. The reverse is plain.

A cast copper-alloy Colchester-derivative brooch, dating c. 50-100.
The brooch is incomplete, missing the spring pin and the headloop. The head of the brooch has two arms, D-shaped in section, to either side of the upper bow. The base of the headloop can be seen on the top of each arm. The reverse of the head has a cast integral loop for holding the missing spring pin. The bow is also D-shaped in section and tapers to the foot, which terminates with a small disc. The lower bow retains the base of the catchplate, thought the hooked pin-rest is missing.

An incomplete, worn and corroded copper alloy Medieval horse harness pendant. The remnant of the pendant is sub rectangular in shape but due to corrosion and edge damage it is not posssible to say if this is its original form. A suspension loop with a long neck protrudes from the upper long edge and is set perpendicular to the plane of the pendant body. It is pierced with a 2.9mm circular hole. A Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy mount in the shape of an acorn. The front is slightly convex and moulded and the back is dished. There are the stubs of two integral circular sectioned rivet spikes on the back, one is longer than the other and is bent outwardly. The acorn has an elongated oval shape with a narrower 'nut', a raised plain collar across the middle and a broader cup below decorated with raised lozenges.
The object is 28mm long by 15mm wide,and 1.7mm thick excluding the rivets, It weighs 3.02g.

A cast copper-alloy and iron pole-mounted and skirted terret of Roman date, c. 43-200
The terret consists of a ring, sub-circular in section, cast integral with four triangular extensions emerging from the base of the ring every 90 degrees, and a cast integral iron shank, rectangular in section, emerging downward from the centre of the base of the ring. The overall shape is rather robust and retains an even surface and patina. There is iron-corrosion staining the shank.

A fragment of Roman copper-alloy bracelet (c. AD 320-450).
This bracelet, of which there is about 45%, is broadly 'D'-shaped in cross-section. The outer face has eight transverse grooves creating nine sub-rectangular knobs or lobes of similar size and appearance. The inner face is slightly convex.
It has patches of a variable drab olive and darker green patina. Both breaks are old.
Length: 41.6mm; c. 57.0mm; width: 4.3mm; thickness: 3.4mm. Weight: 4.07g.

Cast copper alloy trapezoidal knee buckle with concave sides, an internally bevelled inside edge and widened exterior edges to each loop, and two moulded transverse ridges on either side of a raised square above the spindle hole which has been drilled into the frame. The spindle, chape and pin are all intact, and the areas of iron corrosion around the spindle suggest it is made of iron, but the pin and chape are both sheet copper alloy. Copper alloy counter of a spade half-guinea of George III, but produced many years after the half-guinea became obsolete, even though it is dated to 1788 on the reverse, this is an arbitrary date. There was a revival later in the 19th century, during Victoria's reign, because the counters could not be confused with the coins that were legal tender at the time.
