A cast medieval copper-alloy zoomorphic style mount. The mount is sub-oval in plan, has a convex upper surface and concave underside. A horizontal slit in the bottom edge gives the impression of a gaping mouth, and the overall effect is of a forward-facing mask, albeit heavily stylised.Decoration is by a series of straight lines radiating outwards from the centre, with some cross-hatching near the top, At the centre is visible the head of an in situ copper-alloy rivet which sits flush to the surface.The object has a matt olive green patina. A circular copper-alloy possible harness pendant of the medieval period (c. 12th-13th century). The front depicts a left facing lion passant with a long tail within a beaded border with cusps: on clearer examples there are a total of seven tendrils that spring inwardly in an anti-clockwise direction. The design is encircled with an inscription reading: + IE SVI : CRISTVS : (AM)I (I am a friend of Christ). A copper-alloy Roman bow brooch fragment consisting of the catchplate and lower part of the bow. The remaining bow tapers to a pointed foot. The catchplate is unperforated and has a rolled outer side. The style and shape suggest a T-shape brooch of c.AD 50-125. It is of cast construction and has a matt green patina. An earthenware rim sherd of probable medieval date, c.1100-1300. The vessel fragment is unglazed, with a simple rim. The fabric has been tempered with angular and rounded sand/quartz and flint inclusions which are well sorted. The exterior surfaces are pinkish and the buff fabric has evidence of reduction. The fabric is hard and does not scratch with the fingernail. the vessel appears to be handmade. Height of fragment: 25.61 mm. Width: 41.31 mm. Thickness: 8.50 mm. Weight: 9.615 grams.
