Incomplete Roman Colchester copper alloy steelyard weight, a case or shell only, lacking its lead core and iron suspension loop, pear-shaped, round-sectioned with a round opening in the casing at the top and base, the former within a collar. Decoration consists of circumferential grooves, three near the base, three just below the widest part, three more nearer the top and one beneath the collar.
