Fragment of a copper alloy buckle dating to the Post Medieval period. The buckle, when complete, would have had too loops either side of a central strap bar. Only a small section of one loop now survives, the rest is lost due to old breaks. The fragment is ovoid in section and widens towards the centre of the loop. A copper-alloy Medieval annular brooch (c. 1250-c. 1350). This miniature brooch was probably circular in plan before being misshapen. The frame exhibits a rope design and has a constriction for the pin. The copper-alloy pin is rectangular in cross-section, flat on the underside. The top of the pin is fluted with most of the moulding lost to corrosion. The hinged end of the pin is fluted, tapers to a point. Incomplete copper alloy buckle dating to the Post Medieval period. The buckle is a douple loop with one 'D' shaped loop either side of a central strap bar. The frame is 'D' shaped in section with a flat back and rounded upper face. The strap bar is circular in section. A triangular moulded knop sits at either end of the strap bar. The pin is missing. It measures 20.2mm in length, 16.3mm in width, 2.7mm in thickness and weighs 1.31g. Whitehead (2003, pg. 54) illustrates similar examples, e.g. nos. 304 - 308, which he dates to between 1500 and 1650 AD.

Incomplete copper alloy clasp fastener buckle dating to the Medieval period. The buckle comprises of a single loop, broadly rectangular in section with expanded top and bottom edges. The frame is ovoid in section whilst the outer edge and strap bar are rounded in section. The outer edge is thickened and expanded, the closure and pin are missing. The buckle measures 12.8mm in length, 11.6mm in width, 2.4mm thick and weighs 0.69g. Whitehead (2003, pg. 41) illustrates similar examples, e.g. nos. 231 and 232, which he dates to between 1300 and 1450 AD.

A complete but misshapen post-Medieval cast copper-alloy mount (c. 1600-c. 1700). The main part is an elongated oval shape, convex at the front and flat at the rear. At the front, the centre is raised forming a step close the edge. Emanating from each end is an integral spike, rectangular in cross-section. The spikes do not taper and appear to be complete. The head of the brooch is comprised of very narrow rectangular wings from the reverse of which two integral lugs project housing an axis bar around which the loop of the pin is hinged. Both terminals are very worn making it difficult to establish whether it is complete. Shallow grooves on the upper surface create an indistinct design which may be zoomorphic in nature though this is difficult to determine with any certainty. An incomplete strap slide of post-medieval date. The strap slide is rectangular in plan with rectangular protrusions from the reverse of either end. One of the projections has a rectangular recess which would have fitted in to the second component of the fitting. The front face is decorated with a series of three conjoined lozenge shapes panels highlighted in red enamel. The metal has a dark reddish-brown patina and is worn. The object is 29.7mm long, 8.3mm wide, 2.7mm thick ande weighs 4.9g.

The break is old and eroded and the two pieces do not conjoin exactly - suggesting that it originally broke into three pieces. A complete but damaged cast copper-alloy stud of Post-Medieval date. It has a circular, domed head with an undecorated front face. On the back face is an integrally cast rivet. This is trapezoidal in section and tapers to a point. The rivet has also been bent to a right angle to the plane of the stud. This stud measures 23.50mm in diameter, 1.06mm in thickness, 9.18mm in length, 4.00g in weight. There is a similar example from Norwich (Margeson, 1993, p. 83, no. 529).

Just over 50% of the double looped oval buckle survives with a moulded sub-triangular knop projecting from the outer edge of the surviving loop. Lobed knops are also present to either end of the strap bar. The remains of a pin also survive around the strap bar. The metal is a mid brownish-green patina and is worn. The buckle is 27.3mm long, 13.8mm wide, 3.9mm wide and weighs 2.8g. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.64, no.388 and is dated to circa AD 1550 - 1650.

An incomplete undecorated copper-alloy asymmetrical double looped buckle frame of Post-Medieval date. It is missing the pin. One loop is rectangular and the other is D-shaped with an expanded outer edge. They are separated by an integrally cast triangular bar. The back of the frame is flat. This buckle frame measures 24.53mm in length, 17.25mm in width, 1.54mm in thickness, 2.54g in weight. There are similar examples recorded on the PAS database (CORN-456F06), (BERK-0CED17).

Silver thimble length 14mm, width 15mm, thickness 14mm, weight 2.88g The thimble is made from sheet silver that has been rolled into a cylinder, a domed cap would have sat on the top, but this is now missing. The body has a series of annulars with dished centres arranged in a grid pattern. There is a plain band at the bottom with a beaded border above. Cast copper alloy buckle frame and plate dating from the early medieval period, that is10th-11th century. Only the buckle frame and plate survive; the pin is missing. Buckle frame and plate are cast in one with the plate having a roughly quare shape and the buckle frame a D-shape. There are two moulded knops, one on either end of the bar of the 'D'. The buckle and plate are decorated with a moulded decoration which is composed of scrollwork and possibly a zoomorphic design. Cast copper alloy spoked disc brooch dating from the later Roman period, that is c. the 3rd-4th century AD. The brooch survives nearly complete with only the iron pin missing. The brooch was made from cast copper-alloy with a tinned/silvered reverse and a gilded obverse. The pin was made from iron. It was a sprung construction with the spring still intact but very corroded and the pin missing. The pin rest is damaged. The surface of the brooch, especially on the observe, survives nearly intact. A cast copper alloy vessel leg/foot probably dating from the Medieval period. The object is sub-rectangular in plan with straight sides narrowing towards the foot, the edges of which are rounded. It is oval in cross-section with a central vertical rib. The terminal end measures 15.09mm in width and 5.68mm in thickness. At the opposite end the object measures 26.22mm in width and 7.56mm in thickness. It is D-shaped in cross-section. The terminal end measures 12.75mm in width and 3.91mm in thickness. At the opposite end the object measures 20.87mm in width and 6.33mm in thickness. The surface of the object has patches of a black deposit which is probably a sooty/carbon deposit. Crudely made cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from c.1250-1650 for serving and cooking.

Very small cast copper alloy annular buckle dating from the medieval period, that is c. AD1200-1500. The buckle is complete with circular frame and a comparatively large, heavy pin. The cross-section of the frame is circular and there is no moulded decoration. There appears to be no recess for the pin; it was allowed to move freely around the frame.

A cast copper alloy Polden Hill brooch dating to the Roman period, c. AD75-175. The wings are semi-cylindrical and terminate with a break. The axis bar, spring and pin are all missing. The bowhead is hump-like in profile and is decorated with two vertical ridges running parallel with each other, which terminate opposite the start of the catchplate, creating a rectangular pannel. An incomplete Roman (AD 43-100) copper-alloy Colchester-derivative (double-perced lug) brooch. It is incomplete in so far as one wing is missing as are the spring, pin and catchplate. The head of the brooch has only one wing intact and in cross section there are two holes. The bow curves in a smooth arc and tapers towards the foot. It measures 32mm length.
