It then expands into an oval, flat and convex terminal. Copper alloy Dragonesque brooch head consisting of a long thing neck. The head is made from a curving teardrop shape, in the centre of which is a large ring and dot that has dark blue enamel in the ring and light blue enamel in the dot. At the point of the teardrop is a roundel (this form the snout of the beast) in the centre is a circular recess which would have held enamel. The top of the teardrop extends in to a sub-oval projection, one side of which is raised to form a pair of ears. Roman (AD c. 69-96) T-shaped brooch: The cylindrical crossbar is formed by being curled around the iron axis bar forming a horizontal seam on the reverse of the crossbar. There is some damage on the reverse of he cross bar. The crossbar has a central slot on the reverse to allow the pin to be hinged which is now missing. Large and heavy Roman silver finger-ring set with an intaglio. Most of the lower part of the hoop is missing, but is of rectangular profile which expands and swells to triangular shoulders and flat ovoid bezel. Around the top of the ring is a collar of gilding. The intaglio is a pale orange carnelian engraved with a figure of Victory crowning a standing figure of Mars with his head turned the right, unusually away from Victory.
