Lead alloy spoon fragment that has a sub-oval cross-section stem which is truncated near the base. The bowl is also heavily truncated and only the section at the base of the stem remains, this section has narrow straight sides that gradually expand outwards suggesting that the bowl was originally either a fig shape or narrow oval bowl, dating the object to between the 15th to 18th century.

County: Lancashire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Post-medieval cast copper alloy spoon bowl with an oval perforation. The bowl is a pointed oval shape in plan and the stem was attached in a form of 'rat tail'. The perforation (length 7mm, width 5.5mm) appears to be deliberate but the purpose is unknown. Probably dates to between c1650 and c1750 AD.
The length is 55mm, width 28mm, and the weight 10.40g.
Spoon is similar, but not identical to SWYOR-4A2623, DUR-B9BAC6, SUSS-B3F337, and HAMP-268CF3 on the database.
