A Post Medieval copper- alloy complete Georgian shoe buckle, dating from c. AD 1720 to AD 1770. The buckle frame is sub-rectangular in plan with rounded edges. The frame is drilled at the top and bottom to take a separate iron spindle. Attached to the spindle is a copper-alloy two-point loop chape and pitchfork tongue. The buckle is well preserved and all the joints still move. The surface has a dark green patina.
