Post Medieval (late 16th to 17th centuries) strap fitting; a decorative mount. In plan, the copper alloy mount is an oval with a large knop at either end. The upper face has a moulded design forming scrolls and foliage. The reverse is undecorated and has two integral spikes which are circular in section, taper to a point and both a bent over slightly. The surface of the mount has a abraded matte green/grey patina. It measures 24.77mm long, 11.72mm wide and 9.03mm thick, weighing 2.2g. A complete silver strap slide of probable Post Medieval dating (AD 1500 to AD 1700). The strap slide is rectangular in shape, with a D shaped cross section. The corners of the outer edges are bevelled. The inside edge is flat with filemarks present. No traces of decoration are present on either side. No signs of attachments or internal prongs are present. It measures 33.2 mm in length, 19.4 mm wide and 5.5 mm thick. The frame is 3.7 mm thick. It weighs 10.0 g.
