A Medieval copper alloy horse harness pendant. The item is shield shaped in plan. The front face has a slightly raised surface which possibly depicts a lion rampant. The reverse face is plain. There are no traces of enamel on the surface. The top narrows to a short point- this presumably was the attachment loop for suspension but it has now partially broken away and is worn. This harness pendant is particularly small in comparisson to other pendants, and it is possible that this was used for on a smaller animal rather than a horse (Brian Read, pers comm).

The reverse face is plain and there are no traces of enamel. The top narrow to a short point- this presumably was the attachment loop for suspension but it has now partially broken away and worn. A Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy mount. The mount has six circular raised lobes with a raised lobe at the centre. The back is undecorated and has the remains of a square- sectioned integral lug (now missing).

A Medieval copper alloy stirrup fragment, probably of 14th or 15th century date. The stirrup has the remains of both curving side arms present, but they have broken away at the ends; the stirrup bar is also missing. There is a scallop-shell decorative moulding at the top of the stirrup, which may indicate links with pilgrimage. The scallop-design has deep grooving with a convex upper edge and concave sides and base. Behind the scallp-shell is a rectangular loop, resumably through which a leather strap was fitted.
