Lead or lead alloy fragment of an unknown date, possibly casting waste or a partially melted or miscast object. It does appears to have deliberately cast holes, similar to the openwork style, and possible ring and dot decoration. Its original intended purpose is unknown but if it isn't casting waste it could be part of a Late Early Medieval to early Medieval strap-end of Thomas's Class E, similar to LANCUM-2409F1 but cast in lead. A complete cast copper alloy buckle dating to the Post-Medieval period, c.1500-1650. The object is a double looped oval buckle with an angled frame. At either end of the object the frame is notched. The strap bar is narrowed and the pin remains attached. The pin is complete and consists of a pointed strip of copper alloy which is curled around the strap bar. A complete silver strap slide of probable Post Medieval dating (AD 1500 to AD 1700). The strap slide is rectangular in shape, with a D shaped cross section. The corners of the outer edges are bevelled. The inside edge is flat with filemarks present. No traces of decoration are present on either side. An early-medieval copper-alloy strap-end, classified as Thomas's (2003, 2) Class A, Type 1 (Trewhiddle style), slightly damaged at the attachment end. This would date the artefact to around the 9th century AD. The strap-end is flat in profile. The plate expands from a width of 10.0mm the attachment end to a maximum width of 13.5mm at the base of the split. From this point it tapers consistently towards an animal head terminal (W.: 6.8mm). An incomplete cast copper-alloy swivel strap fitting of Medieval date. Only one loop survives, the remainder is missing due to old breaks, now worn. The loop is D-shaped in form and section, tapering at both sides in stylised zoomorphic terminals. These are in the form of animal heads with crescent shaped ears, prominent and projecting triangular brows with transverse grooves, and elongated snouts. Distal end of a probably conical core. Worked around two thirds of the circumference with unretouched cortex on the other face. The cortex suggests pebble flint. The working scars show the piece has been worked to take repeated parallel removals off a prepared platform.
