Copper alloy Dragonesque brooch head consisting of a long thing neck. The head is made from a curving teardrop shape, in the centre of which is a large ring and dot that has dark blue enamel in the ring and light blue enamel in the dot. At the point of the teardrop is a roundel (this form the snout of the beast) in the centre is a circular recess which would have held enamel. The top of the teardrop extends in to a sub-oval projection, one side of which is raised to form a pair of ears.

Roman (AD c. 69-96) T-shaped brooch: The cylindrical crossbar is formed by being curled around the iron axis bar forming a horizontal seam on the reverse of the crossbar. There is some damage on the reverse of he cross bar. The crossbar has a central slot on the reverse to allow the pin to be hinged which is now missing. The outer face of the wings is decorated with triple-stranded transverse ridges in the centre of each wing.
